This is the 516-mile route around the coast of the north of Scotland - starting and ending at Inverness. We had seven days of varying conditions. Storm Amy hit on the fifth day. We arrived at that night’s hotel to find it closed and empty, due to the widespread power cuts. Driving to find somewhere to stay in the peak of the winds was certainly exciting! We visited Sutherland, Assynt, Coigach, Wester Ross, Torridon and Skye.
